Rontal and Agent Vi Partner to Bring Situational Awareness to a New Level

Rontal Applications, Ltd., a pioneer and developer of innovative incident management and situational management systems, today announced its technology partnership with Agent Vi, global leader in video analytics solutions . By integrating Vi-System – Agent Vi's real-time detection and alert software with SimGuard – Rontal’s PSIM software system, organizations can enhance their ability to protect critical infrastructure by increasing the situation awareness of incidents.
Based on the advanced video capabilities achieved through the unique video system integration, SimGuard is able to show not only the alarmed camera and required actions for this event but to also show the exact location of the object identified via video analytics, as a virtual object in the 3D Situation Awareness screen/
This unique functionality achieves three important goals:
- Improved Situational Awareness. By pinpointing the exact location of the analytically detected object on the 3D GIS screen, including the path for a moving object, the ‘big picture’ becomes evident. SimGuard leverages Vi-System’s classification mechanism and displays the proper virtual entity and its appropriate track on the SimGuard 3D Situational Awareness display. E.g. in case of VMD detection of a suspect Loitering in an urban area the exact location and path of the suspect is presented on the 3D situational awareness screen and the classification of a man as opposed to a car is presented.
- Reduction of false alarms and better visibility into an event. Accurate and automatic geographical positioning of the suspicious detection, allows SimGuard to automatically allocate other assets to the specified location. E.g. – point and zoom other video cameras to the suspicious object to determine if the alarm is real and receive better data, sending a location message to a dispatched team etc.
- Use security data to predict future threats. Presenting the location of the suspicious detection on the 3D Situational Awareness screen allows the system to automatically run all other location related system functionalities such as GIS layers (e.g. gas pipes, critical sites, etc.), predictive simulations, specific procedures, alerts and more.
The combined Agent Vi/Rontal solution has already been implemented in a Safe City project of over 10,000 end points including IP cameras, license plate recognition, tampers, facial recognition, and alarms. Safe City projects have issues with comprehending the big picture from enormous data flow from multiple sources. This creates the need for understanding the bigger picture with situational awareness and fast and decisive reactions to situations.
