Ask Agent Vi: Vi-Search Enables Search by Color - How Does It Work?

One of the query filters available in Vi-Search – Agent Vi’s search and analysis tool – is “color”. This query filter allows the user to select a color from a predefined list so that the search conducted only shows results of people, vehicles or static objects that contain a “similar” color to the one specified. A recurring question heard from end users is “how does the color filter work, and how can accuracy be maximized?”

Vi-Search’s search queries are performed via analysis of a video index stored in a database and created by Agent Vi’s real-time video analysis algorithms. These algorithms detect targets (people, vehicles and static objects), track them, classify them and accumulate information about each target’s identifiable attributes.

One of the attributes associated with a target is a color map which stores the most prominent colors detected for that target. The accuracy of the color map depends on many factors:
• Scene lighting – natural light produces more accurate colors, artificial lighting at night time produces very inaccurate colors;
• Camera and lens quality – these factors can significantly influence the video quality which in turn can greatly impact the accuracy of the color map;
• Target size – the larger the target in the field of view of the camera, the more accurate the color map; and
• Background colors – if the target's colors are similar to the background color, it is more difficult to accurately distinguish them.

Vi-Search’s sophisticated color analysis algorithms create accurate color maps even in situations where some of the factors above are not optimized. Along with the additional advanced search parameters offered – including defining specific time frames and/or recurring timeframes, as well as specifying size – Vi-Search is the most cutting-edge product available to pinpoint specific targets and events in stored video, or, in other words, to find a needle in a haystack.

Launch of Agent Vi’s Technology Partner Program (TPP) and Portal

Agent Vi has launched its “Technology Partner Program” (TPP), intended for technology companies offering video surveillance products that wish to integrate such products with Agent Vi’s solutions. The TPP offers a comprehensive platform for building solutions through integration and collaboration with technology partners around the globe. It serves as a one-stop-shop for all joint solutions, from technical elements of product integration to commercial marketing of the solution, and beyond.

In parallel, a Partner Portal has been launched on Agent Vi’s website, allowing Technology Partners access to news and resources, integration support and more.

Agent Vi and Connex International Partner to Certify Channel Partners

Agent Vi has partnered with Connex International to deliver training programs to Agent Vi’s expanding channel network. The programs will focus on sales and technical training on Agent Vi’s comprehensive suite of video analytics solutions.
